Challenge #2 has been posted. The second stop in the race is at thedigichick. Its a collaboration Layout that Cole and I have to work together. We are still working out the details...but I think its probably going to be pretty awesome!! Check out this totally cool prize for completing this challenge:

Tanya's Challenge #1 Layout

Finished my first challenge layout last night!!! Yay...since we have another one to start on today. I guess Cole and I are a good match since we both approached this layout to express our favorite animals.

Journaling reads: "Well it started out as a tactic to annoy my freshman roomate. I bought a six foot poster of flamingos wading in the tropical surf for our dorm room.She forbade me from putting it up in our room. So I did the natural thing andhung it over my bed and she got full view of it every day from her bed. Itjust kinda spiraled from there. I began collecting all things flamingo to decoratemy side of the room. Well the bright beauties just kinda grew on me. AndI became quite fond of them. I’ve had so many flamingo items over theyears. Twenty years later I limit my collection to Christmas ornaments only. I strive to keep my collection unique and now I have enough for a special tree in pink flamingo style, the tree course is made of feathers!! It’s so tacky....it’s cool!"

I've gotten quite a few requests for pictures of my "flamingo tree" and I regret to inform you that in all my excitement this past Christmas I failed to take a picture of the tree. I will not make that mistake this year...plus I should have more oraments!!

Looking forward to the next challenge!!

Cole's Challenge #1 Layout

Well, I've manged to finish the first challenge! Here's my layout:The challenge was to scrap our favorite person or animal, at least half had to be done in our favorite color, and we had to use a favored element at least 3 times. My favorite color should be obvious! I cllect elephants, so the favorite animal part was easy. It was the favorite element tta I had trouble with. I finally settled on a peice of tape by Lara Payton because I find myself coming back to it repeatedly for lotsof different kinds of layouts.

My journaling reads: I started collecting elephants when I was in high school. There was something I just loved about the animal...its strength tempered with great gentleness, its massive bulk matched by the graceful movements of its trunk, its loyalty to family, its ability to remember and pass down those memories to new generations. Shortly after I began collecting, I found out that my great-grandmother also loved elephants. Once people found out abou my collection, Istarted receiving various pieces that my great-grandmother had given as gifts from her own collection. I hope to someday inherit all of them from theaunt who inherited them from my great-grandmother. Until then, I’ll continue to add to my stash, so I have even more to pass along to my grandchildren!

Who is Team Creative Chaos...none other than Nicole (Cole) B. and Tanya (smplgrl) B. We both serve as CT members over at Digital Freebies and are both working on developing our own lines of designs. Check out our personal blogs to find out more about that.

The race starts on Sunday. It will be nothing less than chaos...most definately.
